Work, Life and Relationships
In managing stress and workplace rehabilitation issues, P&L Psychology has developed a talented team of Psychologists that provide Clinical and Vocational Assessments, Counselling, Return to Work Planning, Mediation, Conflict Resolution and Debriefing support.
Initial Needs Assessments
An Initial Needs Assessment examines the needs of a physically or psychologically injured worker and the workplace requirements in order to develop an individualised rehabilitation and return-to-work plan for the injured worker. An in-depth interview is conducted with the injured worker to obtain information relating to the injury, current symptoms and return-to-work barriers to inform the development of the worker’s specialised plan. The assessment also involves consultation with the employer, medical specialist and other relevant stakeholders to gain a holistic view of the injured worker’s current condition.
Return to Work Plans
Following the Initial Needs Assessment, a tailored Return to Work Plan (RTW) is developed through consultation with the employer, injured worker, medical specialist and other allied health professionals, which aims to achieve optimal RTW outcomes for the injured worker and employer.
Case Management
Case Management involves the close monitoring and support of injured workers returning to employment. This occurs via the integration of injury and claims management in a multi-disciplinary approach to deliver a safe, cost-effective and durable return to work. Each rehabilitation plan and case management strategies are tailored to the needs of the injured worker and employer.
Vocational Assessments & Market Research
A Vocational Assessment is useful to identify an individual’s current level of knowledge, skills and ability, set vocational goals and recommend suitable employment options, particularly for injured workers who cannot return to their substantive positions. The aim of a vocational assessment is to assist an injured worker to obtain information about alternative suitable employment based upon the results of the assessment. This assessment acknowledges the individual’s functional work capacity and identifies transferable skills. The assessment includes a detailed comprehensive report, outlining the individual’s vocational options, retraining needs and labour market research where required.
Adjustment to Injury Counselling
Our team of Psychologists also provide “Adjustment to Injury Counselling” that teaches self-management strategies for coping with the physical, psychological, work, family and social changes, which may occur after an injury and provides support to clients during the rehabilitation process.
