Children, Families and Learning
Our psychologists have developed a number of innovative strengths based programs to enhance healthy and productive relationships. Our goal is to equip children, carers, families and couples with the social and emotional coping skills needed to promote resilience, self-confidence and healthy relationships.
At P&L Psychology, we have a number of psychologists who provide assessment and treatment services to children and teenagers across social, emotional, behavioural, and educational areas. Common psychological problems for children include Attention Deficit Disorder and Asperger’s Syndrome, childhood depression and anxiety, developmental delay and oppositional behaviour. Teenagers experience a range of common psychological problems and we address these as well as life stage issues such as identity, self-esteem, relationships and peer pressure.
In our increasingly challenging society, there is a need to ensure that children are provided with appropriate support to assist them to become successful and resilient adults. P&L Psychology offers an assessment service for children and adolescents who are currently experiencing difficulties with learning, academic performance or emotional functioning within an educational setting. Assessments are conducted by psychologists with experience working with learning difficulties, emotional and behavioural functioning and academic achievement.
Couples and families face unique problems, which is why they often seek out help from couple and family therapists. Our psychologists are trained to deal specifically with interpersonal issues that arise in individuals, couples, and families. Relationships are an important foundation of healthy living. Not surprisingly, relationship breakdown can cause significant emotional pain and distress that negatively impacts on all aspects of your life. P&L Psychology consultants can provide comprehensive support to couples through each stage of their relationships including premarital counselling, relationship counselling, child counselling, and separation and divorce counselling.
